Working Groups

About the Committees and Working Groups:

These committees are made up of members and supporters of PRCRS , and are tasked with making informed recommendations to the Executive Committee (the board of directors of PRCRS) regarding their focus area. Each of these teams will  have one elected board member taking part, with one volunteer being tasked with chairing each team or working group, taking notes, etc. The findings and recommendations will be presented to the Board on a regular basis. Decisions having to do with board structure, financial matters (such as buying, selling, renting, disposing of materials or equipment) will require permission by the Board as a whole, but most decisions within reason will be made within the teams, with minutes sent onto the Board.

Please note that most of these working groups will be dealing with Policies related to their focus area, and this will be passed onto the Policy Working Group Chairperson, who will collect and include this information in the new Policy Manual for PRCRS (CJMP). It was decided that each team have a Policies liaison that will communicate policy recommendations with the Policies Team.

Also, all of the groups will organically mesh with other groups’ findings and goals, where for example, a community outreach group will connect with a cultural group, which will naturally flow into the programming committee and policy committee, with technical help and fundraising aspects. That is normal and desired.

Technical Team (Chairperson: Jacob Krauss)

The tech team will review what equipment we have, what can be used, what it is worth, recommend next steps for what we need to do in order to broadcast as soon as possible and as effectively as possible, within our license requirements.

Programming Team (Chairpersons: Jennye Vishek and Laura Balducci, with Suzan Roos)

The Programming Team will look at our license requirements, vision, mission, purposes and devise a plan of action related to programs we should have on air, and how to about making it happen. There will be policies related to this that will be passed onto the Policies committee.>

Promotions/Outreach/Membership (POM-POM)/Fundraising Team (Chairpersons: Meghan Hildebrand & Murray Dobbin)

Promotions: Review what is needed to promote PRCRS/ CJMP through logo, web, brochures, info sessions, ads, bumper stickers, t-shirts, cards, etc. Policies related to this, as well as fund-raising mesh. Email, Social media, web…etc.
Outreach: Involving cultural communities and societies in programming and cross-pollination.
Membership: Tasked with how to increase and keep memberships, and setting NEW membership rates and types of memberships, etc. Policy is needed here too.
Fundraising will be in two sections: Events and Operations (Grants, community liaison, meshing with membership team as well). Again, there are policies needed here too.

Policy Team (Chairperson: Janet May)

This is a crucial team that will make up policies as to what we will/will not air, within our CRTC license and beyond. This group will liaison with all other groups, teams, and committees to provide PRCRS with a comprehensive Policy Manual.
